Let Atlanta Know You Care.

Support us, support Atlanta.

Underwriting Sidewalk Radio means your company is supporting the arts, culture and history of Atlanta.  It means you are connecting your company with the physical and cultural development of our city, and associating yourself with the leaders, educators, artists, experts and administrators who are actively involved in making Atlanta a world-class metropolis.  Through your expression of support, you are letting the listener know you care, you get it, and that you are committed to the future of Atlanta.

About Sidewalk Radio.

Sidewalk Radio is the first radio show dedicated to the history and culture of Atlanta as told thematically through art, architecture, design, development, city planning and preservation.  The show features a who’s who of guests with interviews and topics that not only educate and entertain Atlantans, but also inform listeners from around the world tuning in via iTunes from such far away destinations as Australia, Spain, Norway, Turkey, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Some favorite episodes include: Freedom: Civil War to Civil Rights, The Art of Education, The Fabulous Fox Theatre, Peachtree Street, MARTA, Oakland Cemetery, Little Five Points, and The Skyline.  Noteworthy guests include: Radcliffe Bailey, Sally Bethea, Bill Bartholomay, U.S. Congressman John Lewis, Ryan Gravel, Mayor Sam Massell, Steve Nygren, and Pearl Cleage along with more than 135 others since the show’s debut in October 2010.

The Sidewalk Radio listener.

Sidewalk Radio airs monthly on AM1690 “The Voice of the Arts”, a station dedicated to creatively and intellectually covering Atlanta.  In addition to on-air broadcasts of each episode, Sidewalk Radio can also be enjoyed from anywhere at any time via iTunes.  We have a loyal, creative, educated and active group of listeners making up the Sidewalk Radio community.  From Facebook to Tumblr to Twitter to iTunes, people from Atlanta and far beyond are connecting, listening, learning, and sharing.  We’d like to think that they love our show, but we also know that their interest is closely tied to our community at large.  These are folks who care about Atlanta, and we care about them.  We estimate that in 2012 we’ll reach about 100,000 fans through our network.  Here’s what a few of them have had to say…

“Sidewalk Radio: It’s not just a radio show; it’s an adventure.” – Loyal Listener

“A wonderful local asset, and part of what will help Atlanta’s profile rise nationally.” – Felicia F.

“A ‘must listen to’ show if you want to be up-to-speed with all the cool things happening in Atlanta.” – Ngold830

“I find it to be an invaluable resource for history, art, culture, trends, and business – past present, and future.” – Ruffin44

“Whether you’ve lived in Atlanta your whole life or are new to the city, you will learn things about the city that you never knew and will look at the landscape you pass every day through a different lens.” – DL905

We’d love to discuss the underwriting options that are available.  Although not required, we follow the underwriting rules for public radio broadcasting.  We care deeply about our listener and want to make sure that your support is in line with their interests.  Of course, we also want to make sure you are happy.  If we’ve learned one thing over the past 2 years of producing this show, it’s that when you ask a question, take the time to listen to the answer!

To schedule a time to grab a cup of coffee and chat about supporting Sidewalk Radio, please e-mail creator and host, Gene Kansas. Thanks so much for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you.

To discuss over a cup of coffee or by phone, please drop us a line or give us a call.
